PSU-AAUP was contacted in February 2017 by the Faculty Development Committee (FDC) about a suspicion that faculty development funds that were unused were going back into the E&G Fund.
PSU-AAUP submitted an information request on February 24, 2017 where we asked the administration to detail allocations and expenditures over the last several years.
PSU responded with this spreadsheet. This clearly showed that between 2012 and 2013, $1,664.81 of previously allocated funds were lost and between 2013 and 2014, $49,122.50 were lost.
PSU-AAUP met with University Budget Director Andria Johnson, Shelly Chabon, Vice Provost Academic Personnel, Sally Brauckmiller, OAA Fiscal and Operations Manager to discuss the matter on May 10.
We are pleased to report that we have reached conceptual agreement that the expired funds will be made available to the Faculty Development Committee for re-allocation. We are working on an agreement, and once we have an MOU we will report out.
