More college employees could receive extra pay under a proposal, released on Thursday by the U.S. Department of Labor, that would raise a salary cap on workers eligible for overtime.
Employees who make $679 or less per week, or $35,308 annually, would be eligible for overtime pay under the new proposal. The cap is now $455 weekly, a limit that was set in 2004.
