PSU-AAUP was able to get a exception for this faculty member, but while advocating for her PSU-AAUP expressed to HR that it was absurd to have a deadline that applied for before the faculty member's start date. The exception involves a manual process that HR advises is very time consuming.
Every year we have a sizeable population of new employees who start on September 16. PSU-AAUP has asserted that the University should build systems around that date.
We will hold this matter for the next time we can bargain new issues.
