Many members have reached out to us concerned that the tuition benefit in our collective bargaining agreement LOA#1 would go away.
PSU-AAUP has been involved in conversations with the lobbyists of the other universities about retaining the benefit, and the faculty at Southern Oregon University sponsored House Bill 3307 to force a discussion amongst the seven university presidents.
We are pleased to announce that those conversations resulted in an agreement that preserves the benefit in its current form. The promise the university president's have made to each other is that employees will see no changes to the program as a result of the governance transition.
It would have been wonderful to be presented with this news from the PSU administration, but alas we have the SEIU 503 bargaining team to thank for a copy of the agreement.
