On August 21 we reported on the discussions we had with administration on the Portland Streetcar. Since that time administration has advised they have received a one month extension- to September 30, 2017, of the PSU communities ability to use the streetcar with just their PSU ID card.
If resolution of the matter takes longer than the extension the University has received from the Portland Streetcar, then faculty and academic professionals who use the streetcar exclusively will likely have to get a "Portland Streetcar only" sticker for their PSU ID card.
Administration has advised it is not their intention to unilaterally implement- or unilaterally impose- a Portland Streetcar fee on AAUP members who would need to get a sticker. It is unclear, however, for how long administration would not impose the fee. Discussions are planned to continue.
