Jonathan Fink, Portland State University's first vice president for research, will step down June 30. He will remain at the university and focus on "smart city" research.
"Jon built a first class research operation, and used his extensive outside connections and creativity to open many new doors for PSU," said President Wim Wiewel, in a news release.
Fink will serve as a senior advisor to Wiewel for one year and continue his academic work on urban sustainability, technology development and natural hazards. He will join the school's Geology Department in fall 2017.
