Portland private equity investor and Portland State University trustee Peter Stott says the organizers of a Seattle fundraiser for Donald J. Trump listed him as an event host without getting his approval.
Like the other two Portland businessmen listed as hosts for the Republican nominee's visit, Stott wants off the invitation for the Aug. 30 event.
"While I have been a longtime supporter of Republican candidates and causes, I have no role in the Trump campaign and did not approve the use of my name in conjunction with any Trump campaign event in Seattle," Stott tells WW in a statement.
"I have requested that the campaign and Republican Party correct their records," Stott says, "and remove my name from any invitations or other materials."
