My name is Sarah Giles and I am an Academic Professional Project Manager with the National Policy Consensus Center in the Mark O. Hatfield School of Government in CUPA where I help Oregonians and communities throughout the state participate in public decisions and leverage their resources for collaborative solutions. I also support a national network of faculty members and professionals from college and university centers, institutes, and programs that engage in collaborative governance practice, research, and teaching. I've been at PSU since 2007 and have been an AAUP Unit Rep for several years because it is important to me that my colleagues are kept informed and have a voice in our union. I also volunteer as a member of the Disability and Sick Leave Bank committee, a benefit for union members that allows us to access up to 40 paid days for events covered by PSU's sick leave policy, FMLA and OFLA. Through the DSLB our union has been able to provide for each other in times that members most need support to take care of loved ones and themselves. I'm proud to be a part of that!
