May Day Coalition Festival of Resistance

The Portland May Day Coalition calls upon every worker, every renter, every artist, every immigrant, every student, every teacher, every parent, every child, every union, every organizer, and every progressive, radical, and revolutionary organization in the city of Portland to rise up, resist, and unite with us on May 1st. This festival will be rejuvenating in nature. It is the Coalition’s goal to provide a space for those who have been in the trenches these past years, and also for those for whom this could be their first rally.
In these dark times, hope can feel impossible - but hope we must. With that in mind, the May Day Coalition has decided to celebrate the work that is being done in the form of a “festival of resistance.” The Coalition wishes to emphasize that May Day is for everyone, that we are connected by our desire to resist those who would see us erased.
