Legislative Update

PSU-AAUP submitted testimony supporting SB 854, which would expand requirements of university and college boards of trustees to include more members. From PSU-AAUP’s VP for Legislative Action, Ramin Farahmandpur, “PSU-AAUP supports Senate Bill 854 because the existing form of top-down university governance model described above is undemocratic and antithetical to the mission of public higher education. SB 854 makes the boards more accountable to students, faculty, and other academic workers.” 

The Legislative Committee also asks that you take action to support our part-time faculty colleagues.
