As he was about to start an extended absence from campus, Executive Councilor At Large Jonathan Newton resigned from the EC on August 1, 2017.
The term of Jon's office is May 1, 2016 to May 1, 2018. With less than one year remaining in the term, the Executive Council was able to appoint a replacement pursuant to PSU-AAUP Constitution Article III, Section 4. The council went to the list of unsuccessful candidates in the 2017 councilor at large election. Kellie Gallagher was the next highest vote getter of the candidates for office who did not get elected. Kellie was invited and accepted the appointment for the remainder of the term. She assumes the duties of the position immediately.
