From ABSI: The Advancing Black Strategists Initiative--or ABSI for short--is a joint project of Jobs With Justice Education Fund, Institute for Policy Studies' Black Workers Initiative, and Morehouse College International Comparative Labor Studies. ABSI seeks to create a cohort of Black economic justice and labor-focused strategists committed to leading, developing, and advancing policies and campaigns that support the collective power of working people--particularly in the South. The September 3 launch event will feature leading Black economists and campaigners and we will invite Black Strategists to join our new network. |

ABSI will support the development of a new school of thought anchored in the principle that working people's ability to organize and collectively bargain, alongside voting, and other forms of civic participation, is a prerequisite for a healthy society and economy. Whether you're a Black strategist, activist, ally--or just want to learn more about ABSI--please join us on Thursday, September 3 at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. The virtual launch event is free and open to the public, but please RSVP here, so you can reserve your space. |
