On March 17 we reported there were issues associated with the last special call for the donated sick leave bank.
Last week the PSU-AAUP Negotiating team met with administration to review the issues and find a way forward. The teams decided on the following:
- We will open a new enrollment window this spring term for new enrollments in the bank.
- We will jointly create a FAQ on the donated sick leave bank program. This will be available soon.
- We scheduled joint information sessions on the sick leave bank for May 16 and May 17 (both at noon, lite lunch provided. RSVP by clicking on the dates). We hope these sessions will help educate and encourage more membership in the bank.
- We've turned the Enrollment Form into a PDF Fillable Form. Click here for instructions on how to fill out the PDF Fillable form.
- The Donated Sick Leave Bank Committee will make themselves available to attend department meetings to explain and promote the sick leave bank. If you are willing to have a sick bank committee member come to your faculty meeting to present on the plan, please advise Phil Lesch.
- Enrollment in the plan will become a PSU-AAUP organizing campaign to begin soon.
- We are reviewing the possibility of putting the enrollment/opt-in process completely online with a google form.
Both PSU-AAUP and administration are committed to the successful of this program. Many structural changes have been suggested by members. Before considering these structural changes, the teams want to take measures now to increase enrollment.
