PSU-AAUP represents over 1,200 instructional faculty and academic professionals employed by Portland State University. We strive to defend the rights of our bargaining unit through advocacy, collective bargaining, and grievance procedures, and are committed to protecting tenure, due process, and academic freedom for all PSU faculty. We are affiliated with the American Association of University Professors, the nation’s only organization that exclusively represents higher education faculty.

Introducing Krista Kennedy

My name is Krista Kennedy and I am the Sponsored Student Program Administrator in the Office of International Affairs. I have been at Portland State for 4 years and am a proud PSU-AAUP member volunteer. I stay active in our union by attending the general membership meetings, serving on the Sick Leave Bank Committee, and holding an at-large PSU-AAUP Executive Council position. At my previous institution, we did not have a union to help us come together and fight the administration to secure basic needs for faculty and academic professionals. Being part of PSU-AAUP helps me feel supported through our efforts related to increasing benefits and compensation. I look forward to connecting with new members at upcoming events.
