Halfway through Spring term!

It is week five of the final quarter of what has been an incredibly difficult year. I know so many of you are out of gas and have struggled to get here. We feel you! The member leaders of PSU-AAUP continue to keep up good union work, but we are tired too! We are almost there. Hang in there! Despite being overwhelmed, we are happy to have completed our negotiation with administration on this past year’s contract, but we are already in conversations about prepping in the fall for our economic reopener of the contract. We continue to advocate for our colleagues in IELP, equity in the form of the NTT Teaching Professor ranks before the Faculty Senate, and some other “behind the scenes” advocacy for good working conditions for many of our members across campus. So yes--it is a lot of work and we are ready to take a little pause in the summer. Know that we stand with you in solidarity and wish you the best as we see the flowers bloom in our city, vaccines in folks’ arms, and hopefully the improved health and well-being of our community.
