Members of the Graduate Teaching Fellows Federation, the union representing graduate employees at the University of Oregon, have voted to ratify the tentative agreement with the UO administration.
In a ratification vote that took place over a one-week period, 73% of members participated and 93% voted in favor of ratifying the contract, giving GTFF a new collective bargaining agreement after one year of negotiations. The final step in the process involves GTFF bargaining committee members and UO administration representatives officially signing the agreement.
The agreement includes wage increases for all employees, paid parental leave, paid training and low cost health-care premiums for graduate employees. The union represents more than 1,400 graduate employees.
