PSU-AAUP wants to alert you to something that has just come to our attention. TWO PSU EMPLOYEES HAVE INVITED STUDENTS TO POST YOUR CLASS MATERIAL TO AN INSTAGRAM PAGE HOSTILE TO RACIAL AND SOCIAL JUSTICE. The page invites people to violate the space of the classroom by taking materials, including Zoom recordings, and posting them on this page. We are looking into how to protect members from this kind of hostility and intrusion; PSU’s General Counsel and others are taking action (We emailed them about this on a Saturday evening! Never a dull moment around here!). Please stay tuned on that front. We advise you to add a note to your syllabi and your D2L shells that explicitly states that sharing class material (syllabi, Zoom recordings, anything) without the instructor’s express permission is not permitted. If you believe that the integrity of your class or yourself as an instructor has been violated in any way, please write the VP for Grievances and Academic Freedom, Jennifer Ruth, at jenniferhruth@gmail.com (please note the “h” between “jennifer” and “ruth"). Please also alert your director/chair and dean.
