he first time Kevin Mahoney felt something wasn’t right at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania was about 15 years ago, when he was walking into Lytle Hall to teach his first summer English course.
The hallway walls, despite the building’s HVAC, were dripping with moisture and carried a strong, musty smell. The color looked strange, the professor of rhetoric and composition said, and the air inside the building felt "muggy."
