Oregon Public Higher Ed Funding

AFT-Oregon hosted University of Oregon Labor Education and Research Center (LERC) economist Mark Brenner for a deep dive into Oregon public higher ed funding. See the slides from Brenner’s presentation here. Mark Brenner is an esteemed economist and former director of Labor Notes. At LERC, he focuses on teaching and leadership development. At Labor Notes, a Detroit-based nonprofit dedicated to “putting the movement back in the labor movement,” Brenner co-authored Secrets of a Successful Organizer and two other books on labor organizing. Prior to LERC and Labor Notes, Brenner spent six years as a researcher at the Political Economy Research Institute of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, supporting living wage and minimum wage campaigns nationwide. He holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of California Riverside.
