As many of you know, we have begun preparation to bargain a successor agreement to the 2015-2019 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). As part of the process of getting ready the Collective Bargaining Team (CBT), to date, has conducted 64 listening sessions with departments and AAUP member caucuses across campus. This is more than twice the number previously conducted. These sessions will allow us to go into bargaining with great insight into the issues and concerns of a large cross-section of our members. We want to thank everyone who participated in the sessions. The difficult challenge of scheduling so many listening sessions would not have been possible without the efforts of our staff, member leadership, and, very importantly, the AAUP Unit Representatives who have been so critical to our bargaining success—past, present, and future. If you didn’t have the opportunity to share your thoughts and concerns at a listening session, please respond to the Collective Bargaining Survey you will receive by e-mail later this month. Going forward, the CBT will create a list of bargaining priorities based what we have heard from you, and we welcome your ongoing engagement when bargaining formally begins in May.
