Did you know that you could access the Policy Documents & Reports from AAUP National via the PSU Library? View the ebook to peruse the documents. Some included policies and reports of specific and timely interest to the PSU-AAUP community are:
- The Freedom to Teach. This 2013 statement on academic freedom outlines faculty rights to their teaching approaches including but not limited to selection of course materials, teaching activities, and student assessment.
- Tenure and Teaching-Intensive Appointments. This statement may be of particular interest to those following the PSU Tenure for Teaching Task Force that has been reporting its findings to Faculty Senate.
- Faculty Participation in the Selection, Evaluation, and Retention of Administrators. With our new PSU President and two Provost searches currently underway, now is a good time to review AAUP’s stance on shared governance with these matters.
- Contingent Appointments to the Academic Profession. With our adjunct colleagues currently bargaining their contract, this statement outlines some guidelines as to how universities may transition from being so dependent on contingent labor and offers ways to support our adjunct colleagues.
