80 Hours of COVID-19 Leave Extended until June 30, 2021

Per President Percy’s email on December 8, 2020, the 80 hours of COVID-19 Leave available, which was originally set to expire on December 31, 2020, has been extended until June 30, 2021. If you have not yet used this leave, you still have time! Please contact HR directly at leaves@pdx.edu for details, or see the links in the General Information blog below.

While we realize that many people have already exhausted this option (among other leaves), or will have utilized it for Winter 2021, we are encouraged that administration is recognizing the incredible burden the pandemic has had and will continue to have on all of us, and we do appreciate the extension. We are also encouraged by the statement in this email that states “In addition, our colleagues in HR are actively developing additional programs that will extend flexibility to departments and individuals who need it during this trying time. We’ll share more details as soon as we can.”  Our hope is that there will be forthcoming additional leave options or programs that will extend relief into Spring Term 2021 and beyond, if necessary.
