November 2023: Local Labor Updates

A lot has been happening locally on the labor front, and we've compiled some information to help you stay apprised of local union activity. Read the full update here. A few highlights:

 

PAT Strike: How to Show Support
Portland teachers are on strike for our students after months of negotiations with Portland Public Schools. Show solidarity by:

• Honking or cheering as you drive/walk/bike past;
• Sending a message to the school board or sharing on Facebook;
• Taking picketers snacks, handwarmers, cards, items to show encouragement;
• Use any graphics on the PAT Resources for Supporters page on your social media accounts, or print some and attach it to your car, bike, or display it anywhere;
• Donating to the PAT Solidarity Fund

AFT Disaster Relief Fund
The war right now in the Middle East has created a grave humanitarian crisis.  If you are wondering what you can do to help, we encourage you to contribute to the AFT Disaster Relief Fund to help assist those who are on the ground caring for the victims in this war and pressing for the release of hostages.
