My name is Emily Ford and I’m an Associate Professor and Urban & Public Affairs Librarian in the Millar Library. Since I arrived at Portland State 8 years ago I’ve been a proud PSU-AAUP member. I joined PSU-AAUP because I knew the terror of having been an “at-will” employee. I knew that my union would support me in my job so that I, in turn, could make a difference in students’ lives. I’ve volunteered with PSU-AAUP as a Unit Rep, as an EC Member, and as Chair of the Communications Committee. I see our union as a strong community of workers committed to the same thing–supporting our students.
