Researcher and PSU-AAUP member Ellis Hews speaks at an OHSU rally against Federal research cuts
As of July 1st, there is a pool of $150,000 in the Researcher Bridge Fund to bolster externally funded researchers’ job stability. This is a result of researchers’ building PSU-AAUP membership and engagement among colleagues and speaking out during bargaining, in the media, at national days of action, and at Board of Trustees meetings.
Per our new contract won through all of our participation in bargaining sessions, practice pickets, and through filling out strike pledges:
“On July 1, 2026, and on July 1, 2027, the University will replenish the Research Bridge Fund with the transfer from the unallocated expired Faculty Development Funds (FDP) from the prior year. The allocation from expired FDP funds will be no less than $75,000 and no more than $150,000. The Research Bridge Fund balance established during the carry-forward process will not be more than $200,000. If there are no expired Faculty Development Program funds to replenish the Research Bridge Fund, the University will transfer $75,000 from another source.” |
