Many of you have already shown incredible support for our colleague and advocate, Cristina. She is moved by your generosity, but we want to provide an update: the finish line has moved.
Recent scans show the cancer has spread to her liver, requiring a pivot to a much more aggressive chemotherapy and 2-3 major surgeries this summer. While the physical toll is visible, her spirit is unchanged; she’s facing this phase and her new look with her signature wit, joking that she’s currently channeling her inner GI Jane.
As her medical leave and treatment extend into the summer, we are asking our union family to help us stretch her safety net further. Cristina has spent years fighting with us; let’s ensure she has the support she needs for this next round.
